Orlando stop Boston win streak at 14

The Orlando Magic put on a great performance at home against the Boston Celtics whose 14 game win streak ended.

Orlando started the game out very strong with a 13-0 run but ended up behind 10 at half time, 46-36.

The Celtics were playing very well without their star point guard Rajon Rondo. The Celtics played very good defense throughout the first half to come back form a 13 point deficit and to build an eventual 10 point lead by half time.

The Magic are still building with their new team after trading for three efficient players in Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, and the highly anticipated return of Hedo Turkoglu.

The Magic kept Ray Allen and Paul Pierce in check in the second but allowed Kevin Garnett to have a big second half which allowed him to end up with 22 points, 5 steals, and 4 rebounds.

The Magic’s top performer was Brandon Bass who had 21 points, and 9 rebounds being just one rebound shy of a double-double.

The home side played in front of a dedicated and excited crowd which allowed them to turn that 10 point deficit into an 8 point victory 86-78. This victory allowed them to snap Boston’s 14 game winning dominance in the Eastern conference to make a statement that they could be in the NBA Finals.

The Magic play next at New Jersey on Monday and look to continue building with their new look team with the Celtics looking to bounce back against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday in Indy.
