After an exciting game over the weekend where hosts Stuttgart played a Bayern Munich side out to prove a point had their hands full.
The first half started out with a bang for the visitors as the ex Stuttgart striker player Mario Gomez, Thomas Muller, and Frank Ribeiry put the away side 3-0 up by half time.
Five minutes into the second half Harnik scored a goal to bring the home side back within two but two more goals in the next for minutes allowed Mario Gmoez to complete his hat trick and put his side up 4 goals at 5-1.
Harnik scored again to bring his team back within two and teammate Christian Genter scored to make it a fina score of 5-3 in the last 20 minutes.
The game was full of goals by both teams but the away side had the more luck as their shots went in.
Just three days later and these two teams meet once again in a German Cup game at the same venue. Stuttgart still feeling that they could have atleast earned a point from the league game over the weekend, went out onto the field with something to prove however, things did not begin as they would have hoped.
Only six minutes in, Andreas Ottle of Bayern puts the away side up 1-0 for two minutes until their lead is doubled thanks to a goal by Mario Gomez which takes his tally up to 4 goals in 2 games at his former club’s home ground.
However Stuttgart do peg two goals back through Russian international Pavel Pogrebnyak at the 33rd and the 45th minute just at he brink of half time. 2-2 at the half.
The second half comes around and Bayern once again take the lead this time through German international striker Miroslav Klose to make it 3-2.
The home side failed to tie it when Christian Gentner could not convert a spot kick into the goal but they do equalize just three minutes later when Delpierre scores to finally tie the game at 3 apiece.
4 minutes later however Bayern show their determination and skill when Thomas Muller regains the lead for his side only to be followed by another Bayern goal from Miroslav Klose to make it 5-3 just like it was over the weekend just three days ago.
Bayern were not finished however when Frank Ribeiry added another goal to his tall to make it 6-3 Bayern Munich to win the game. 3 goals in the last 9 minutes doubled Bayern’s tally to shock and end any hopes of a Stuttgart come back.
