Finally, after months of speculation, the NBA is returning. On December 25, Christmas day, we will have five season opneing games to quench our basketball thirst.

First, the Boston Celtics visit the New York KNicks at 12:00 p.m. in an anticipated rematch from last season's play-offs where the Celtics questionably swept the Knicks. Boston is the better team, but NY should have won atleast one of the matches. NOt that it matters too much. That game will be ariing lvie on TNT.

Next up, the Miami Heat will visit the Dallas Mavericks in a rematch of the NBA Finals where Dallas emerged victorious 4-2. ABC will be airing this fixture live at 2:30 p.m.

At 5:00 p.m., the Chicago Bulls visit the Los Angeles Lakers in a Rose v Kobe match-up. Perhaps by theat day, the Lakers will have acquired the signature of New Orleans superstar point guard, Chris Paul. They may even add Dwight Howard.

At 8:00 p.m., the Orlando Magic will visit Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Orlando may be without star center Howard as he is rumoured to be traded away before the trade dead line.

At 10:30, Blake Grifin will lead his Los Angeles Clippers to play the Golden State Warriors, who may or may not have Monta Ellis.

All five of these amtches are certainly intriguing and will be itnersting to see how they turn out.

The highlight of the day for me is none other than teh NBA finals rematch between Miami and Dallas. The winners, Dallas, won game six in Miami to lift the title. It wouldn't be surprising to see Dallas lose the first game of the season at home to Miami who most likely want it more.

Of course it is Christmas day so the morning should be spent with one another. However, once 12:00 p.m. rolls around, its NBA Basketball time! Enjoy the games folks. Chedck back with me, A-Rey, and follow me on twitter @areysportsnews for continuous updates thorughout the games if you can not watch it. Happy Holidays!
