Carmelo Anthony Trade finally coming to an end?

As everyone already knows the Denver Nuggets Superstar and multiple time All-Star starter Carmelo Anthony's name has been thrown left and right from team to team about potential trades. The New Jersey Nets are in dire need of his services and have shown a lot of love towards his direction. However since things did not work out within the last two months, Nets majority owner Mikhail Prokhorov decided that the trade talks involving "Melo" are to come to an end.

Carmelo made it clear that he would rather play in the big apple for the New York Knicks. There he has another superstar that can play by his side in Amare Stoudemire who arrived at the Knicks this past summer from the Phoenix Suns. They have been trying desperately to sign Melo but the Nuggets did not like the offer from the Knicks. The Nets have made a great offer for the Nuggets but the only obstacle that lays between the potential trade is Carmelo Anthony.

During All-Star Weekend just a couple of nights ago, Prokhorov and minoriy owner Jay-Z met with Carmelo at a Los Angeles area restaurant to discuss the Nets short term and long term future. Carmelo listened but did not make any promises.

The Knicks offered a good trade but the Nuggets want Knicks big man Timofey Mozgov in the mix and if they do not include him, Melo will be traded to the Nets. Now the Knicks have made a final offer for Melo that includes Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, and their 2014 first round pick to the Nuggets. They would also send Eddy Curry's expiring contract and Anthony Randolph to the Timberwolves who would send Corey Brewer to the Nuggets. They are unwilling to part with Mozgov or rookie Landry Fields.

Since they are not including a couple of players that Denver wants, it looks like the Nets will be able to sweep up Melo by the end of today. It all depends on whether or not Melo is willing to sign an extension with the nets at the end of this season. Nets would also get point guard Chauncey Billups in exchange for Devin Harris, rookie Derrick Favors, plus more players including future first round picks.
