Italian Serie A: Chievo Verona-AC Milan

To start off a typical Soccer filled Sunday we begin in the Italian Serie A with Chievo Verona hosting league leaders AC Milan. AC Milan have been on an impressive run this season and have had a lot of assistance from Swedish international big man Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The player leads his team with 13 goals and 10 assists. Today's game is the first time Milan are playing just days after a disappointing home loss against English side Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League. Milan are looking to get back on track by maintaining their leadership in the Italian first division.

AC Milan started out as the brighter side when Robinho scored the opener for the Italian giants. He did however control the ball deliberately with his hand then turned and slotted the ball into the bottom left corner from about six yards out. The first half ended 1-0 for the visitors.

It took only sixteen minutes into the second half for the hosts to grab an equalizer through Swiss international Gelson Fernandes when he headed in a a high cross across around the the Milan goal keeper into the far side of the net. 1-1

Milan coach Massimo Allegri brought in substitutions Kevin Prince Boateng and Alexandre Pato hoping to add a much needed spark to the game. The substitutions finally paid off in the last ten minutes when Alexandre Pato dribbled past a couple of defenders and hit the ball off the near post into the back of the net. 2-1 AC Milan

The game ended 2-1 to the visitors and it is a great victory that will be appreciated by club owner Silvio Berlusconi who has been in charge of AC Milan for 25 years today. Winning this game is a great way to celebrate a 25 year rich history of owning one of Italy's most prestigious soccer clubs in history.
