The Dallas Mavericks lost game one of the NBA Finals 92-84. Tonight in game two the game was close throughout. However when the home side took control towards the end of the fourth, we all thought it was over...except for the visiting side.
The game was tied 51-51 at half time and Miami led by four after three. With roughly six minutes remaining in the game, Miami romped to a 88-73 lead. The game looked over for a Dallas side who seemed to have nothing left as biggest star Dirk Nowitski was having an off night. However little did we know that Miami had something else coming.
Dallas would go on a 20-2 run and eventually tie the game at 90 apiece. Dirk Nowitski drains a three to give Dallas the lead. Miami then took a time out and afterwards Lebron James inbounded the ball to a wide open Mario Chalmers who nailed the equalizing three pointer. Then Dallas took a time out of their own and came up with a play in which there were only 24.5 seconds left on the clock. Jason Kidd received the inbound pass, let the clock run down, and then passed the ball to Dirk who avoided the Miami defense who had a foul to give but allowed him to score what would eventually be the winning bucket.
With no time outs remaining, Miami put the ball in Wade's hands who shot a three pointer for the win but it the ball would not go into the hole. The victory for Dallas is one of the biggest and most impressive comebacks in NBA Finals history. Miami did it to Dallas back in 06 and now Dallas returned the favor. Game 3 will be played on Sunday in Dallas and it will be the first of three to be played at the American Airlines Arena.
